The most magical place on earth is about to be taken over by maniacs.

Something super fantastic about to happen for our little family.
We're going to Disney World!!!

Hoo-ray! The most magical place on earth
is about to get taken over by my little monsters!
Watch out park goers, things are gonna get a little crazy.

So, my mom and I cooked up this plan
to go the week after Thankgiving
so that the parks will be less crowded
and it won't be a million degrees
when we are grouchily waiting in
(hopefully shorter than usual) lines.

We have a ton of Disney guides
and were mapping our assault
to squeeze every little bit of fun we can
in a whirlwind 3 day trip to the parks.

Any advice for doing Disney with a 3-year-old
and a gluten intolerant mom would
be greatly appreciated.

Feel Again

I have a confession to make.
Sometimes while the boys are at school
I put music on really really loud
and dance all over my house like a crazy person.

I love it and it's just so fun
to grab a hairbrush and sing my heart out.
I jump on the couch,
I do the running man in my kitchen,
I do leaps, and jazz hands.

This is my latest song
that I go nuts to.
I have no idea when it was released
but I heard it on the radio for
the first time the other day
and my head almost exploded,
that how much I love it.

It reminds me of how I felt
when I met my man.
Like suddenly my heart could feel again.

It's just so romantic and sweet.
Turn your computer up really loud and
shake you hips while you listen.

I promise that by the end of the video
you will want to give a big ol smooch to your sweetie too.

Enjoy!

52 Weeks of Happiness :: Week 29

DSC_0050_zpsddd0cc7e

I just love the way fall casually makes it's appearance.
The other morning I woke up
and little splashes of red and orange
were peaking above green leaves.

CSC_0069_zps8085c02b

The air subtly seemed just a bit cooler.
We rolled down the windows and felt
the crisp wind blow our hair around the car as we drove.

It felt amazing and we all took in deep breaths.

DSC_0136_zps5d0d2cd5

Oh, the autumn light is breathtaking.
The morning sun is more golden, even if it's just by a shade,
and drenches the earth in a warm glow.

I love seeing the light shimmer over tall grass.

DSC_0151_zps321e6507

Huge boxes of pumpkins show up
in front of the entrance of the grocery store,
announcing that festive times are just ahead.

I fight the urge to buy one on the spot
because I know that a Pumpkin Patch trip is in our future.

Yet, I always stop by to marvel at their arrival
and say hello as I glide by with my shopping cart.

I just love when my closet is taken over
by rich colors, longer sleeves, and fuzzy textures.

The annual rotating of my clothes marks
the true arrival of fall.

My spring dresses find a place in the back of my closet
and my sandals get tucked away in boxes.
to be replaced by boots and cardigans.

The beginning of fall makes me so very happy!

Come on a hiking adventure with my crew...

We recently started taking
Saturday morning hikes
at a sweet little park
that we feel like we just discovered.

It all starts with a cool bridge.
Where the boys can get on their hands
and knees and search for little fishies
in the water below.

DSC_0130_zps1edfc0ea

Next up on our journey
is a beautiful scene
where water flows over rocks.

At this point the boys give us heart atttacks
and try to jump from wet rock to wet rock
while we scold them and wrangle them
away from potential danger.

DSC_0139_zpsaf34b5ca

As we tarry along, we pass the tree
that looks just like a Brachiosaurus.
The boys alternate between riding the tree dinosaur
and pretending to be T-Rexes and beating the crap out of it with sticks.

DSC_0202_zps7fe9356c

 The sound of rushing water
escapes through the trees
when we next approach a dam
that has a small waterfall rushing over it.

It's super dreamy.

DSC_0182_zps567b4371

Along the path you can discover
little turtles sunning on fallen tree branches.

It becomes a challenge
for us to contain our
stomping and yelling so
that we don't scare the poor things
and make them plop into the water.

We usually terrify them on our approach
but sometimes the planets align
and everyone is quiet enough so that we see one.

It's like a huge treat when we do.
See that little critter down there?
I love him for not being afraid of us.

DSC_0214_zps87e46570

Of course, this bridge is just too enticing
and the boys can't help but stomp on it.
As they march down each plank,
Dragonflies fly off the leaves in fear.

It looks almost magical
to see my little monsters chasing
off our winged friends.

DSC_0260_zps67b00fab

At the end of our journey
we let the boys play on a playground
with a huge metal slide that sends you flying at top speeds
until you shoot off the end and scrape
your elbows and knees in the dirt below.

 Untitled

The boys think that it's awesome.
Mama? Not so much!

Now, don't you wish you could go on a hike
with me and my crazy monsters?

A Working Mom's Dilemma

Grandad is on the Fishing Wall of Fame

DSC_0089_zpsd88eee2d

For years we've been talking about
getting my Father-in-law to go fishing
with my dad and us.

Well, it finally happened last weekend.
We all hopped in boats on my dad's favorite fishing pond
and had such a great time.

DSC_0080_zps0b660867

It always surprises me that I love fishing so much.
I'm a girly girl but I enjoy sittin' in a boat,
grabbing a rod, and fishing my little heart out.

DSC_0070_zps3611923b

The men had so much fun fishing together,
there was some major man bonding going on.
Roger and I loved hearing our dads
exchanging stories and laughing while they fished.

DSC_0061_zps55cf1020

My dad has a wall of fame with fishing pictures
in his "man cave" and Grandad decided that
he wanted the honor of having his picture on the wall.

When he caught his fish my dad said
"Well you're part of the family now, you're on the wall!"

It was a great moment.

DSC_0042_zpsed2113c4

I even caught a few.
Although, two got away,
those sneaky little scamps.

It was such a fun day
and one that we will remember forever.

Thanks Pops for being such a great host on the pond!

52 Weeks of Happiness :: Week 28

DSC_0035-4

I had one of those magical weeks
where beautiful sunsets unfolded right before my eyes.

Where creativity seemed to radiate out of my skin
and spill onto the world around me.

DSC_0102

Sorting through my photos from last week,
I noticed that I had collected pictures.
of the beauty of nature.

Like these breathtaking sunsets.

DSC_0158

Little bitty mushrooms seemed to just
land beneath my unsuspecting feet.

I love it when that happens.

DSC_0177

I feel blessed to walk a path that leads me
to such sweet and tiny treasures.

They just begged me to photograph them.

DSC_0240

It was a moment of serendipity that I noticed
glitter shimmering in
the reflection of trees in water.

DSC_0053-2

It's times like these that make me happy
that I almost always have my camera on my hip,
just waiting to capture the photographs that beckon me.

I just love seeing the world like it's a Monet painting.

Creating art makes me so very happy!
